The Chief of Staff of the United States (US) Air Force, General David L Goldfein, on Saturday (3 February) flew the “Made in India” light combat aircraft Tejas at Air Force Station in Jodhpur, the Indian Express reported.
Shortly after he boarded the aircraft, the Indian Air Force (IAF) tweeted on his sortie:
Goldfein is the first foreign military chief to fly the Tejas aircraft. The US Air Force General, who was accompanied by General Terrence O’Shaughnessy, Commander of the US Pacific Air Force, is on an official visit to India. The US officials arrived on 1 February and held talks with Indian Air Force chief B S Dhanoa.
Overwhelmed with the warm welcome and acknowledging the fact that IAF operates the second-largest C-17 fleet, General Goldfein in a tweet said he was proud of the US helping India in strengthening its air mobility capabilities provided by Boeing C-17 Globemaster III military transport and Lockheed C-130J four-engine turbo prop military transport aircraft.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
