US: Members Of Indian Diaspora Organise Events Across Cities In Support Of CAA; Create Awareness

Several people belonging to the Indian diaspora on Saturday (4 January) carried out events in the support of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019 across several cities in the United States (US), reports Asian News International (ANI).
With events organised in major cities like Chicago, Seattle, and Atlanta among others, the members of the Indian diaspora tried to create awareness against the misinformation being spread in the US about the purpose of the CAA.
The people were seen raising slogans in support of the Act with placards reading "CAA is not anti-Muslim", "CAA is inclusive and not discriminatory", and "We support Modi."
Organiser of the event in Seattle, Archana Sunil who is a health and medicare insurance advisor said, "What people fail to see is that the CAA has a limited scope in that it is meant to simply rehabilitate those persecuted minorities already in India, but who were left behind on the other side during the 1947 Partition for no fault of theirs."
Sunil further underscored that the promise in this regard had been made by several leaders of that time including Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
