US President Joe Biden
The United States America's embassy in Trinidad and Tobago has announced on Twitter that it has made a donation of Covid-19 vaccines to the Caribbean nation which includes 80 vials of the Pfizer vaccine.
This donation of Pfizer vaccine would be enough for 200 people as each vial can produce five doses, which amounts to a total of 400 doses.
As many social media users pointed out, India had in contrast donated 40,000 doses of Covishield as part of its vaccine maitri.
The US has also been heavily criticised recently for banning the export of key raw materials to India which are necessary for the production of Serum Institute's second vaccine Covovax.
After days of bad press the US reportedly relented and announced that it has identified raw materials required for India's vaccine production and that these materials would be shipped urgently.
