Users Can Soon Simultaneously Use WhatsApp On Five Devices As It Looks Set To Release Multi-Device Support

Messaging platform WhatsApp is set to introduce its multi-device support that will allow the application to be used on several devices simultaneously without one of the devices being connected to the web.

This feature will first come into action on WhatsApp Web, Facebook's Portal devices, and desktop and subsequently initiated for Android and iOS-based devices.

Now, users who link their accounts to the portal, desktop and web versions won't need to connect their main phones to operate these features on other devices.

Moreover, this new modification will allow for linkage of around four devices in addition to the primary smartphone, thus permitting a single account to be operated through five devices at the same time.

This multi-device support will hamper the application's performance initially, but those are likely to be fixed before its launch for Android and iOS.

The feature could go live in the coming two to three months as Mark Zuckerberg and Head of WhatsApp Will Cathcart had confirmed earlier this month that the feature would be introduced in the platform.

However, assumptions about the new feature have been rife for over a year now, and any verified timeline hasn't been disclosed yet, Indian Express reports.
