Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar has claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party will not be able to open its account in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming state assembly poll.

A report says that Rajbhar, who is part of the Akhilesh Yadav led alliance with Samajwadi Party has claimed that the BJP will not be able to win any seat in the region.

He added that it will be a big deal if the BJP manages to pull through the upcoming state assembly election by winning just 50 seats.

Rajbhar was speaking at a function organised by a news channel. He added that every section of the society was unhappy with the Yogi Adityanath government and the party will be unable to register a win in the Purvanchal region in the assembly polls in March.

Om Prakash Rajbhar also said that Anil Rajbhar, another leader from his community, who is in the BJP (and minister in the Yogi Adityanath-led cabinet), is a "loader" in the party.

The Zee report mentions that Rajbhar named the districts where the BJP will not be able to register any win. Among the districts he named are Balia, Ambedkarnagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur.

He even claimed that the alliance with Samajwadi Party will be able to win six seats in Varanasi — the Lok Sabha seat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rajbhar has said that the Yogi Adityanath-led government has taken away the share of the dalits and backward sections. He added that the dalits and the backward sections did not get their due share even in the appointment of 69,000 teachers in the state.

He further added that leaders from the backward sections in the BJP should be asked why they hesitate on the issue of caste-based census. This report says that he has previously claimed that Apna Dal's Anupriya Patel is in contact with the Samajwadi Party for an alliance. His claim was refuted, a report says, by Apna Dal's Ashish Patel.
