Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh has brought back the highest number of migrant labourers from across the nation in the last four days, reports Economic Times.

So far, the state has welcomed back home about 2.25 lakh migrant workers through the reception of 184 trains at 42 different railway stations. About a lakh more of these migrant labourers have used other mediums to return to the state over the past four days.

CM Yogi’s own constituency Gorakhpur has emerged as the district to have received the highest number of migrant workers anywhere in the nation. The count so far stands at 27,334 migrant workers who have arrived in 28 trains, which is also a record.

Apart from the 28 trains received in Gorakhpur, the state's capital Lucknow has received 22 trains of migrant workers and Prayagraj has received 11 trains.

It should also be noted that the state was first to begin brining back migrant workers and students from across the country. In March alone, the State had brought back about five lakh stranded workers from the Delhi-NCR region via buses.
