A violent mob abused, attacked and threatened a female journalist for reporting the existence of illegal cow slaughters in the Pension Mohalla of Hassan district in Karnataka, India Today reports.
Hassan Babu and Rehamaan, known as repeat offenders, were allegedly operating four illegal slaughter houses in the area and had taken hostage of around 100 cattle.
The female journalist tried to visit the illegal slaughter houses and five cattle hoarding spots along with police officials and some animal lovers. The rampant group of people hounded the woman as she tried to open the houses and rescue the animals along with her group.
The journalist was reportedly given threats about dreadful consequences to her life if she failed to leave the location then. Babu and Rehmaan hid other cattle and the woman’s team managed to save only a few animals.
