[Watch] Dnyanoba Mauli Tukaram: Devendra Fadnavis Sings Bhajan Dedicated To Lord Vitthala On Ashadi Ekadashi

In a video shared by Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, he can bee seen singing Bhajan and dancing along with wife Amruta on the occasion of Aashadh Ekadashi at the Pandharpur temple.
The sacred place of Lord Vitthal, the Pandharpur temple is the only one in India where Lord Krishna is worshipped along with wife Rukmini. On Friday early morning at 3 am, the chief minister Fadnavis and wife Amruta took part in Vitthal-Rukmini pooja at the temple. Lakhs of devotees are visiting the temple.
Fadnavis said that whenever he visits Pandharpur, he is blessed with happiness. “I have asked Lord Vitthal for Maharashtra state’s “sujalam suphalam”, abundant water and agriculture.” He added that the government is starting work to clean the Chandrabhaga river.
The state transport department had arranged 3,500 buses for the Warakaris visiting from all over the state. Due to the Pandharpur Pooja, on 12 and 13 July, Dabbawalas of the state will be on holiday.
On the occasion, Prime Minister also wished the dovotees of Lord Vitthal and shared a video clip on the Yatra.
Famous as “Dakshin Kashi” (The Varanasi of the South), Pandharpur temple houses the vigrahas of Lord Krishna as Vitthal, and Rukmini. It is said that the Pandharpur Yatras to the sacred temple have been in place for over 800 years.
On Shukla Ekadashi of months of Aashadh, Kartik, Chaitra, Magh, a large fair is organised at the temple. These occasions constitute the four Yatras of the year. The current Yatra of Aashadh is also called “Mahayatra” or “Dindi Yatra”, in which devotees from all the corners of the country come with images, padukas of saints in palanquins.
