INS Kora, a Kora-class guided missile corvette of the Indian Navy, fired an anti-ship missile today in the Bay of Bengal earlier today.

The missile — Kh-35 Uran — was fired to the limit of its range (maximum range).

The target ship used for this test, decommissioned minesweeper INS Cannanore, was hit with “precise accuracy,” the Indian Navy said.

“Target ship severely damaged & in flames,” the Navy added.

This missile test comes just days after INS Prabal fired an anti-ship missile. The Chamak-class missile boat fired the missile in the Arabian Sea.

The warship which fired the missile today was inducted into the Indian Navy in 1998. Designed in-house by the Indian Navy, the warship has a displacement of 1,350 tonnes. INS Kirch, INS Kulish and INS Karmuk are the three other warships of this class currently in service with the Indian Navy.
