Rahul Gandhi showing his dance moves at a school in Tamil Nadu (Source: ANI/Twitter)
Rahul Gandhi has been in the news for his activities during his tour of southern India, be it his speech in Kerala which was criticised as insulting to the north Indians, or taking a dip in the ocean with the fishermen.
Gandhi has again caught the attention on social media by his latest stunt - dancing.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was caught on camera today dancing on stage at St Joseph's Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Mulagumudu, Tamil Nadu. The event was one of his interaction with the school students.
The video showed Gandhi dancing to the tune of a song sung by a student on stage along with few others including the pastor.
Social media users pointed out that the students were sitting in silence, as if shocked, when less than halfway through the video, a teacher is heard asking them to “make some noise for Rahul ji”.
“Come on students! Make some noise for Rahul ji,” she says.
“Give a huge round of applause for Rahul ji. Come on students, make some noise for our Rahul ji” she repeats. Then, the teacher starts chanting “Rahul! Rahul!” and orders the students to repeat the slogan.
Rahul Gandhi’s dance moves got both positive and negative reviews from the Twitterati.
Some users said they couldn’t but cringe at the awkwardness when the teacher was caught cajoling the students to “make some noise” for Rahul’s dance moves. Others praised the Congress leader for “lightening the school atmosphere”.
