Watch: Nature’s Beauty At Its Best; Kedarnath Temple Wrapped In A Blanket Of Snow

Uttarakhand’s Kedarnath is known for being the home to one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Located near the Mandakini river at a height of 3,583 m above seal level, the town experiences severe snowfall during its winter months.
The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva lies in the Garhwal Himalayan range. Due to its flora, fauna and the snow-covered mountains, it provides a majestic experience to those who take up the pilgrimage to the temple.
Due to the extreme weather conditions, the temple is open to pilgrims only between the months of April and November. The trek to the top of the hill involves an exuberant hike of nearly 18 kilometres.
During the 2013 floods in Uttarakhand, the temple suffered only minor damages and remained largely unaffected, taking everyone by surprise. Watch the video of the latest snowfall that has covered the temple in a blanket of snow.
