Home Minister Amit Shah (YouTube screengrab)
An angry Home Minister Amit Shah while speaking in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday (6 August), slammed Congress party’s leader in the house Adhir Ranjan Chowduhry for accusing the government of not keeping the interests of Pakistan occupied Kashmir in mind.
Shah was taking part in the discussion over the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019.
After Chowdhury alleged that the government was not thinking about PoK and of violating rules to convert the region into an union territory (UT), an infuriated Amit Shah asserted that whenever he talks about J&K it also includes PoK and Aksai Chin.
Shah again asserted that the whole of J&K is an integral part of India and that he and others are willing to give their lives for the region.
He then took on Chowdhury to ask whether the Congress leader does not consider PoK as a part of India. A video of the same was shared by social media users.
The BJP led NDA government seeks to pass the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019 in the Lok Sabha today. The bill passed the Rajya Sabha test yesterday.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
