Congress supporters allegedly pelted stones at Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s vehicle in Sidhi district on Sunday, Hindustan Times has reported. Chouhan was in Churhat area of the district as part of his 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' through the state ahead of the assembly elections.
Addressing a gathering after the incident, Chouhan dared Ajay Singh to come in the open and fight with him, hinting that the stone-pelting at his vehicle was undertaken on the directions of the local Congress leader.
"Ajay Singh, if you have strength come in open and fight with me," the Chief Minister was quoted as saying. "I am physically weak but I won't be bogged down by your deeds. People of the state are with me," he said.
Ajay Singh, in his defence, said no Congressman was involved in the stone-pelting incident and that his party does not follow the culture of violence.
