Facebook-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has rolled out two new features - Unlock via Face ID or Touch ID and WhatsApp group calling, Livemint reports.

To use these features, users will need to download and install the latest WhatsApp (v2.19.20), once the update comes to your device. Since the update is in the rollout phase, it may take a while to reach a few devices.

The communication software unveiled the biometric feature for the iPhone in the previous week. The Face ID or the Touch ID will provide users and their messages an extra level of security.

However, individual chats on WhatsApp will not be protected via the new feature as it only lets users open the app on their phone via biometrics. Users will be able to enable the feature by going to the Settings menu, and then clicking on Piracy, where they will find a Screen lock option.

WhatsApp group calling was introduced back in August 2018, but it has been a complicated process as users need first to place the call and then add participants. However, users will be able to place calls with ease as the new button will let you select contacts first in a group and then place the call.

Users, via the group call, will be able to include only three more members, just like when it was introduced. Users will need to use the old method of adding a member from outside a group as the feature has not been updated.
