When A Democrat President Spoke Like Trump On Illegal Immigrants And Got A Standing Ovation

United States President Donald J. Trump is under media fire for barring the entry of illegal immigrants (also called as aliens) from seven Muslim majority countries that his administration sees as hotbeds of terrorism. The mainstream media in America has mischievously termed this move by the Trump administration as a ‘Muslim ban’.

Trump clarified in his facebook post today that there was no Muslim ban and his ‘policy is similar to what President Obama did in 2011 when he banned visas for refugees from Iraq for six months.’ Obviously, the media didn’t raise such brouhaha then probably because there was a democrat in the white house.

But the social media is a great leveler. People were quick to point out the difference between the coverage of Obama then and Trump now.

Social media also dug out a video clip from a ‘State of the Union’ address delivered by another democrat president almost 20 years ago. He, like Trump, also vowed to crack down on illegal aliens. He got a standing ovation for it.

That democrat was the then US President Bill Clinton who said, quite sensibly, declared that, "We are a nation of immigrants.. but we are a nation of laws". He said:
