More trouble comes in the way for the coalition government in Karnataka, as the Jarkiholi brothers’ disputes with Belagavi Rural MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar seems to have met no resolve.

The efforts of KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao and Dy CM Dr G Parameshwara seems to be not paying off, despite multiple visits to Delhi, to meet the AICC president Rahul Gandhi and Venugopal, the general secretary of AICC.

The brothers have announced to take serious decisions after the arrival of Siddaramaiah on 16 September. Currently, the former CM is touring Europe.

The issue risen over elections to Belagavi PLD bank continues to trouble the stability of the government. Jarkiholi brothers claim to have the support of 14 MLAs and threaten to quit if issues are not resolved at the earliest, New Indian Express has reported.

They are reported to be in talks with BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa. Among the demands, it is said that the brothers want a free hand to choose the nominee from the district to be inducted into the ministry. They also vouch for Lakshmi Hebbalkar’s removal as the president of state Mahila Congress. She should not even be given a chance to choose the candidates for two Lok Sabha seats in Belagavi.

They have been vocal about DK Shivakumar staying out of the issue, and not getting involved. Meanwhile, CM Kumaraswamy claims that he can turn the tables on BJP, and gather 5 BJP MLAs to quit the party.

This news comes in the light of the much talked Karnataka cabinet expansion, which as per a Deccan Herald report, might now be delayed.
