With Covid-19 Recoveries In 18 States, UTs Surpassing National Average, India's Recovery Rate Rises To 62.42 Per Cent

With a total of 19,138 Covid-19 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the cumulative figure of recovered cases among Covid-19 patients has increased to 4,95,515 as on Friday (10 July), the Health Ministry said in a statement.

The total recovery rate in India has now increased to 62.42 per cent, the ministry said.

"The improvement in recovery rate is the result of combination of preemptive, proactive and graded steps taken by the Centre in collaboration with the States/UTs," the ministry said.

The Health Ministry further informed that there are as many as 18 states and union territories where Covid-19 recoveries have surpassed the national average.

The states and UTs with recovery rates higher than national average include Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Tripura, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Punjab, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

The Health Ministry said that the case fatality rate in the country has declined to 2.72 per cent.

Emphasising on increasing numbers of daily Covid-19 tests, the ministry said that 2,83,659 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours.

"The testing lab network in the country is further strengthened with 835 labs in the government sector and 334 private labs, there are as many as 1169 labs in the country," it said.
