In a move to augment its supply chain, the Indian Railways’ research arm Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) has planned a mega vendors conclave in Lucknow on 30 August.
The organisation is hoping that the meet will serve as a platform for direct one-to-one interaction and discussions with the industry. The meet will also help MSMEs increase their contact with the railways as no participation fee for attending the meet has been kept to ensure wide participation.
The meet is part of the Railways plans to reach out to private industry. The RDSO has already initiated some measures to encourage vendors to register themselves for RDSO controlled items. It had earlier slashed the registration charges for items with less than three sources from Rs 1,50,000 to Rs 10,000 for micro and small enterprises and from Rs 2,50,000 to Rs 50,000 for others.
Part of the government’s ‘Make In India’ initiative, the RDSO will also make presentation about “Enhancement for ease of doing business” during the conclave.
