After having swept the Indian wireless phone market offering free calls and internet data to consumers, Mukesh Ambani is going to launch Jio Fiber broadband service, that will attract users with high-definition television and set-top boxes free of cost for annual lifetime subscribers, today (5 September), reports Economic Times.

Asia’s richest man is now going to offer users movies and entertainment shows through internet collaborating with streaming service giants such as Netflix and Amazon. as well as rival mobile carriers.

Ambani’s Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, plans to provide its consumers with subscriptions to major streaming services with prices starting from Rs 700 a month.

The fibre-TV launch comes post Jio captured the top position for wireless services by bagging hundreds of millions of subscribers with free calls and minimal data prices, that left rivals Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea with growing debts.
