Amid rising Covid-19 cases in the state, Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government has decided to implement lockdown from 30 April evening to 4 May morning.
“Lockdown in the state will now remain imposed from Friday evenings to 7 am on Tuesdays. The decision has been taken in the wake of Covid-19 situation,” ANI said on twitter.
India’s most populous state Uttar Pradesh has reported more than 29 thousand cases in the last 24 hours. The state is just behind Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala in the number of cases reported.
Uttar Pradesh stands at third position in the number of total active cases with more than three lakh active cases. Maharashtra has around 6.7 lakh active cases and Karnataka has reported more than 3.2 lakh active cases.
India as a whole registered 3,79,257 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the number of active Covid-19 cases to 30.8 lakhs.
Though 3,645 deaths were reported in India in the last 24 hours, the National Mortality Rate has been falling and currently stands at 1.11 per cent.
