Days after India announced that all villages in India were given electric connections, the World Bank has said that the statistics are better than what is being claimed by the Centre, reports Mirror Now. The global financial institution is said to be using a methodology to count not just villages electrified but also the individual houses that were off-grid.
With the current pace of progress, India would be able to provide access to electricity to all households much before its deadline of 2030. However, the report added that India would need to keep an eye on the reliability of the electricity supply.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
