Chief Electrical Inspector to Government of India (CEIG) for the Hyderabad Metro Rail D V S Raju has successfully completed the inspection of 33kV/415V indoor substations installed in four stations starting from Peddamma Temple to HiTec City, reported The Hindu.

The announcement was made by L&T Metro Rail on Thursday (September 27). The metro stations are a part of the Corridor-3 which starts from Ameerpet to HiTec City. As a process for according sanction to energise stations, the inspection was carried out. This facilitates testing and commissioning activities of the railway systems. This can include things like signalling, automatic fare collection and telecommunication.

CEIG Raju was quoted as saying, “Commissioning these auxiliary sub-stations will boost the progress and hasten the completion of metro rail section between Ameerpet and Hitec City of Corridor-III.”

The stations will get power at 33kV through the ring main fed from 132/33/25 kV receiving substations at Yousufguda and Uppal, said The Hindu.

CEIG had earlier inspected the indoor substations from Madhuranagar, Yousufguda, Jubilee Hills Road Number 5 and Jubilee Hills Check Post. This happened a month ago.

L&T Metro Rail MD and CEO K V B Reddy was quoted as saying,“This is an important development for Corridor-III (Ameerpet to Hitec City stretch) as commissioning these stations will make auxiliary power supply available for the entire stretch of 10 km.”
