Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath.
The Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh has sacked 64 officers who got jobs by fraudulent means 20 years ago, the Press Trust of India has reported.
As per this report, Chief Medical Officer of Mirzapur OP Tiwari has dismissed the people who got jobs in the Uttar Pradesh Health Department by fraud between 1996 and 1998. The enquiry was going on for 18 years.
Chief Medical Officer of Mirzapur OP Tiwari, who is reported to have dismissed the officers has been quoted as saying, "...the 64 people were appointed on Grade 4 posts and had been drawing the salaries since then. Some of them also got promotions and were now working as clerks."
The team got suspicious. It wrote to the government for an inquiry. This led to the findings on the wrongful means adopted by the officers.
The dismissal was ordered last week -- following the submission of a report by the Economic Offence Wing, Varanasi, as per Tiwari. Letters concerning their dismissal have been sent to the CMOs in the districts of their posting.

Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
