Under this scheme which will stay in effect till 30 June, every poor and needy person will be provided ration even if he or she does not have documents like Ration and Aadhaar card. This scheme will also be extended to members of nomadic communities.
This scheme has been implemented keeping in mind the disruption caused due to the ongoing Covid-19 lockdown.
"Even if a person does not have Aadhar Card, ration card, BPL card, he should be given food if he is hungry. Persons in shelter homes will also be provided food. We have to ensure that no one goes without food in the state," Yogi Adityanath was quoted as saying.
Yogi Adityanath has also warned that shopkeepers found under-weighting essential commodities, especially in government ration shops, would face strict action.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
