Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's efforts towards improving more than one thousand primary schools in the state are showing their impact. Reportedly, the schools being improved under the Adityanath government's efforts are "surpassing convent schools in terms of basic facilities and infrastructure."

The revamp and improvement is happening under the initiative 'Operation Kayakalp'. The initiative was taken up with an aim to transform the primary schools of the state and has started yielding results.

A government spokesperson has said that the number of schools where basic facilities for students have been upgraded is 1.39 lakh.

These schools now have smart classrooms, libraries, playgrounds, toilets, and drinking water.

The primary schools where facilities have been upgraded are spread across the state, including in places such Barabanki, Hilalpur, Heerpur, Hardoi, and others.

Reports say that the improvement has led to an increase in admissions and that guardians and parents are preferring to send the children to these schools instead of the expensive private schools in the state, especially the "convents".

Around 12 to 15 schools in each district have been transformed under the Yogi government's inititative. In some districts, over 20 to 25 schools have have been developed at par with private schools, reports say.
