A Madhya Pradesh youth who went viral in a video for completing barefoot 100-meter dash on road in 11 seconds has been invited by the State Athletics Academy in Bhopal, the state Sports Minister Jeetu Patwari said, reports the New Indian Express.
Former MP CM and BJP’s vice president Shivaraj Singh Chouhan shared the video on Twitter.
Just to give an idea of how fast Rameshwar ran barefoot and on-road, we need to compare him to legendary sprinter Usain Bolt, who set the benchmark for the 100-meter dash in 9.58 seconds. With proper training and facilities, Rameshwar can at least represent India in athletics.
Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju also posted a video of him during the trails, during which Rameshwar was not able to perform at his best. However, the minister believes he can become better and asks media not to pressurise him.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
