1988 - Freedom Forty Tees
In the heart of history, a t-shirt emerges, weaving a tale of Swarajya - the quest for self-rule. It's 1988, and India Post commemorates 40 years of Independence with a stamp, now emblazoned on this fabric.
Swarajya is a Sanskrit term meaning self-governance or self-rule. The term was first used by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to achieve self-rule from the Mughal Empire and the Adil Shahi and Nizam Shahi Sultanates.
Later, the term was used synonymously with 'home-rule' by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati.
And in the fervent pursuit of Swarajya (self-governance or freedom from foreign rule), Bal Gangadhar Tilak gave the powerful proclamation, “Swaraj is my birthright, and I shall have it."
Wear the Battle for Swarajya t-shirt, wear a legacy!
P.S. Order one size up for a loose/oversized look.
