Above 60 Per Cent Voting Till 5 PM: Lowest Turnout In Maharashtra, Not Even Half Of People Voted In Baramati

Of the 11 States and Union Territories voting in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections today (7 May), Assam recorded the highest voter turnout of 74.86 per cent till 5 pm, followed closely by West Bengal with 73.93 per cent.
Goa was another state to record voter turnout above 70 per cent with 72.52 per cent voting till 5 pm. The lowest turnout was observed in Maharashtra with 53.4 per cent voting.
The average turnout of all constituencies till 5 pm was 60.19 per cent. Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagara Haveli and Daman and Diu, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh recorded above average turnout.
Bihar recorded a turnout of 56.01 per cent, with its neighbour Uttar Pradesh close behind with 55.13 per cent voting. Gujarat recorded a turnout of 55.22 per cent till 5 pm.
