A day after Jitin Prasada submitted his nomination papers for the Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), incumbent BJP MP Varun Gandhi penned an open letter to the constituency's people, pledging to persist in serving them regardless of the circumstances.

In his heartfelt letter, Varun expressed gratitude to the constituency, for not only embracing him as a Member of Parliament but also as an individual as per a report by The Indian Express.

"I am writing to you with a flood of memories that have left me sentimental. I vividly recall the 3-year-old child who first visited Pilibhit in 1983 with his mother. Little did he know that this land would become his karmabhoomi and its people, his family," he wrote.

Reflecting on the conclusion of his term as MP, Varun remarked that his bond with Pilibhit transcends political considerations and pledged to serve them till his last breath. He reiterated his commitment to advocating for the welfare of the people of the constituency as their representative.

While acknowledging that he may no longer serve them as an MP, Varun expressed his intent to continue serving as their "son." "My doors will always be open for you," he wrote, affirming that he entered politics to amplify the voices of ordinary citizens and would persist in doing so "at any cost."

He concluded his letter by affirming that his relationship with Pilibhit is one of love and trust. "I was yours, and I will remain so," he affirmed.
