Ajit Doval is set to continue as the National Security Adviser (NSA) of India as the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet approved his third term on Thursday (13 June).
"His appointment will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) or until further orders, whichever is earlier," the letter signed by the Committee Secretary said.
Along with Doval, Dr P K Mishra also received an extension as the Principal Secretary to the PM. Mishra is a retired IAS officer. His term will also be a co-terminus with the PM.
Both Doval and Mishra have been assigned the rank of a Cabinet Minister. They enjoyed similar perks earlier.
