Another Embarrassment For Trump? Iran Launches Fresh Missile Attacks On Israel After US President Announced Ceasefire

Hours after United States (US) President Donald Trump announced a 'complete and total ceasefire' between Iran and Israel, Iran launched fresh missile attacks on Israel, killing at least three people.

Notably, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi had denied any finalised deal after Trump's announcement, saying Iran might consider a ceasefire if Israel halted its attacks.

The latest attack shows that Iran indeed has defied Trump's appeal for a ceasefire. A similar thing happened when Trump called for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan after India's Operation Sindoor.

The US President had announced a ceasefire after Iran launched missiles at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest US base in the region, in retaliation for US bombings, though with forewarning to limit casualties.

Later, he posted, "CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE," and in another post called for 'peace.'

However, Iran's latest attacks show that it is not ready for 'peace' yet. This brings an embarrassing moment for the US President, who has been positioning himself for the Nobel Peace Prize by bringing the warring nations to a truce.

Notably, Pakistan has already recommended Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. However, after US's attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities, its internal politics started heating up, with leaders calling for the withdrawal of this recommendation.
