Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Over 68 Per Cent Voter Turnout Recorded In First Phase Polling

The first phase of the voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 across 102 Parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and UTs has been concluded.

As per the Election Commission data, 68.29 per cent voter turnout was recorded across 21 states and UTs participating in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. 

In Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 63.99 per cent of voters have cast their ballots, while Arunachal Pradesh recorded a turnout of 72.74 per cent.

In Assam, the voter participation stands at 75.95 per cent, while Bihar recorded a turnout of 48.88 per cent.

Chhattisgarh saw a relatively higher turnout at 67.56 per cent, while Jammu and Kashmir registered 68.27 per cent. Lakshadweep reported a turnout of 83.88 per cent, while Madhya Pradesh saw a turnout of 67.08 per cent.

In Maharashtra, 61.87 per cent of voters have cast their votes, while 72.17 per cent and 74.50 per cent voter turnouts have been recorded in Manipur and Meghalaya respectively.


In Sikkim, voter participation stands at 80.03 per cent, while Tamil Nadu recorded a turnout of 69.46 per cent.

Tripura witnessed a relatively higher turnout at 81.62 per cent, while Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand saw turnouts of 60.25 per cent and 55.89 per cent, respectively.

West Bengal reported a notably high voter participation rate of 80.55 per cent.
