In the wake of electoral setbacks in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge has summoned a crucial meeting of the INDI opposition bloc in Delhi on Wednesday(6 December), as reported by NDTV.

While the Congress faced setback in other states, there is a silver lining as the party is on track to defeat Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Telangana, where the Bharat Rashtra Samithi has held sway since 2014.

Contrastingly, the BJP has put up a dominant performance, successfully retaining Madhya Pradesh.

The announcement of the next INDI meeting date follows speculation surrounding the bloc's future amid internal rifts.

The last INDIA meeting took place on 31 August - 1 September in Mumbai, with the Congress expected to set the subsequent date.

Despite internal challenges, INDI alliance had previously expressed intentions to contest the 2024 elections and this month's state polls collectively.

The upcoming INDIA meeting gains significance as it may provide insights into the bloc's strategy and unity amidst challenges, raising questions about its ability to present a cohesive front against the ruling BJP in the upcoming crucial elections.
