Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (24 May) said if the Central government and states work together like Team India, no goal is impossible.

PM Modi made the remarks while chairing the tenth Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog in New Delhi.

The theme of the meeting is "Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047", PTI reported.

"We have to increase the speed of development. If the Centre and all the States come together and work together like Team India, no goal is impossible," NITI Aagyog quoted PM Modi as saying.

"Viksit Bharat is the goal of every Indian. When every state is Viksit, then Bharat will be Viksit. This is the aspiration of its 140 crore citizens," PM Modi said.

The NITI Aayog Governing Council is the apex body of the government think tank and comprises all state chief ministers, Union Territory lieutenant governors, and key Union ministers, with the Prime Minister as its chairman.

This marks PM Modi’s first major engagement with state leaders and UT heads following Operation Sindoor.

PM Modi said that at least one tourist destination per state should be developed at par with global standards and by providing all facilities and infrastructure.

Noting the rapid urbanisation in India, PM Modi said," We should work towards future ready cities. Growth, innovation and sustainability should be the engine for the development of our cities".

He also stressed on working towards inclusion of women in the country's work force.

"We must make laws, policies so that they can be respectfully integrated in the workforce," he added.

PM Modi said the work by the Centre, state and UT governments should be done in a manner so that policies implemented bring change in the lives of common citizens.

"Only when people feel the change, it strengthens the change and transforms the change into a movement. We have a great opportunity as a team to fulfil the aspirations of 140 Crore people," the Prime Minister said.

He also urged the state and UT representatives to focus on the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.

"We should have the aim of making each State Viksit, each city Viksit, each Nagar Palika Viksit and each village Viksit. If we work on these lines, we will not have to wait till 2047 to become Viksit Bharat," he said.
