A total of 45 kilograms of pure gold has reportedly been incorporated into the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The estimated value of the gold, excluding taxes, is around Rs 50 crore, according to Nripendra Mishra, chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, Times of India reported.

Gold has been used extensively in the doors on the ground floor of the temple, and the throne of Lord Ram.

Additional gold work is currently underway in the Sheshavatar Temple.

While the main sanctum and structure of the Ram temple have been completed, several additional facilities, such as the museum, auditorium, and guest house, remain under construction.

These works are expected to be completed by December 2025.

Only a limited number of devotees will be allowed to enter the Ram Darbar for now, and entry will be regulated through free passes.

Mishra confirmed that arrangements are in place to manage the heavy footfall and ensure a smooth visiting experience.

Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai on Friday (6 June) urged devotees to remain patient and wait for their turn to visit the sacred space.

A trust official clarified that the Ram Darbar is currently not open for unrestricted public access.

The grand mandir at Lord Ram's birthplace was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22 January 2024 after a prana pratishtha (consecration) ceremony.
