The Election Commission of India announced that it has received documents from 98.2 per cent electors in Bihar, with 8 days still remaining for submission under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls, an official statement said.
The Commission completed the Enumeration phase between 24 June and 25 July 2025 and published the draft Electoral Rolls on 1 August.
Electors can submit claims, objections, and documents from 1 August to 1 September 2025.
The Commission praised the efforts of the CEO Bihar, DEOs of all 38 districts, 243 EROs, 2,976 AEROs, 90,712 BLOs, lakhs of volunteers, and representatives of 12 major political parties, including 1.60 lakh BLAs.
Electors are using this period to correct mistakes and provide missing documents.
"As per information received from the office of CEO Bihar, till date documents of 98.2 % Electors have been received," the poll panel said.
Out of 7.24 crore electors, 0.16 per cent claims and objections have been filed—10 from BLAs of political parties, none from non-electors, and 1,21,143 by electors within constituencies.
Additionally, 3,28,847 new electors who turned 18 by 1 July or will do so by 1 October have submitted Form 6 and declarations.
The Commission confirmed that the SIR is on schedule.
EROs/AEROs will finalise eligibility verification by 25 September 2025, and the Final Electoral Rolls will be published on 30 September 2025.
