The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has filed a complaint against leader of the opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi for physical assault and incitement after party's two members of Parliament (MP) were injured.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur said, "We have filed a complaint with Delhi Police against Rahul Gandhi. We have mentioned in detail the incident that happened today outside Makar Dwar of Parliament."

Thakur claimed that when BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs were protesting peacefully against Congress, Gandhi arrived at the scene with INDI Alliance MPs and incited them to go among NDA MPs.

"We have given a complaint under Sections 109, 115, 117, 125, 131 and 351. Section 109 is attempt to murder, Section 117 is voluntary causing grievous hurt and Section 125 is endangering life," Thakur said.

Meanwhile, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital has issued a health update on injured BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, who were admitted to the hospital after head injuries.

Dr Ajay Shukla said, "Their CT scan has been completed and now MRI is being done. Both were bleeding so we had to use stitches to cover deep wounds. Both have been given medication."

The Congress MPs have also submitted their complaint at the Parliament Street police station and alleged that the BJP MPs misbehaved with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and LoP Gandhi.

In a letter written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, the Congress MPs alleged that they were obstructed from entering the Parliament and LoP Gandhi was 'manhandled by three' BJP MPs.

BJP MP Sarangi alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP, causing the individual to fall on him, resulting in his wounds. Another BJP MP Rajput also sustained head injuries during a chaotic altercation.

After the incident, a BJP MP confronted Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of instigating the incident by saying, “Have you no shame? Look what you’ve done. You’ve pushed him," the BJP MP was heard saying in Hindi in a video.

To this, Rahul Gandhi said, “He pushed me." This prompted BJP leaders to say “gundagardi karte ho (You are being a bully)."
