Uma Ilakkiya, a prominent figure in Dravidar Kazhagam, has stirred controversy with a provocative speech questioning Lord Ram, the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, and targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Speaking at an event in Chennai ahead of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir's Pran Prathishta ceremony, Ilakkiya, Deputy General Secretary of Dravidar Kazhagam Thamizhar Peravai (Dravida Kazhagam’s Tamil Council), raised objections to Lord Ram's character based on Valmiki's Ramayanam.

"Rama was said to have lived with several thousands of women in the palace, making merry with drinks. I want to ask you, are you people going to give him as an example for your children? We name our children after a leader because we want the child to be like the leader. Having said that, are you going to bring up your children with him as an example?" she said.

As reported by News Nine, the woman Dravidian leader claimed that the RSS will complete its 100 years in 2025 and at that time they will announce that this country is a Hindurashtra, a Ram Rajya.

Sharing the viral video on social media platform 'X', BJP Tamil Nadu stated that "DMK and it’s sympathisers continue to mount vile, abusive attacks on Lord Rama, unable to digest the fact that the people of Tamil Nadu have started questioning their anti-Hindu propaganda. The I.N.D.I. Alliance will not just be defeated, but will be DECIMATED!"
