BJP Issues 'Charge Sheet' Against Kejriwal, Accuses Him Of Making Delhi 'Corruption Lab' With Liquor Policy, Jal Board And Waqf Board Scams

On Monday (23 December), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member of Parliament (MP) Anurag Thakur presented a list of allegations against Arvind Kejriwal through a 'charge sheet'.

Thakur accused the national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Chief Minister (CM) of transforming Delhi into a "corruption lab" by perpetrating a series of "scams".

Before the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP's state unit established a "charge sheet committee". This committee has thus far produced comprehensive reports outlining the purported shortcomings of the incumbent AAP MLAs.

"What kind of a party is this which came to power promising to give corruption-free government but was involved in eight to nine scams related to the liquor policy, Delhi Jal Board, DTC, Waqf Board," Thakur alleged.

Thakur coined the phrase, 'Ghotale Pe Ghotala, Kejriwal Ne Banaya Delhi Ko Bhrashtachar Ki Prayogshala' (Kejriwal transformed Delhi into a hub of corruption with scandals).

The former Union Minister launched a critique against both the AAP and Kejriwal, accusing them of failing to establish new Mohalla Clinics and hospitals. He further alleged that they neglected to utilise the funds provided by the Centre to enhance the healthcare infrastructure of the city.

Thakur accused that the smog tower situated in Connaught Place, originally intended to alleviate air pollution, was non-operational despite the AAP government investing millions in its promotion.

He highlighted issues such as water scarcity, inadequate sanitation, impaired roads, and other problems to criticise the ruling AAP.

Thakur further accused the AAP of backing "anti-national" entities and stated that Kejriwal had expressed doubts about India's surgical strikes. He asserted that the party received backing from "Khalistani elements" in the course of the Punjab elections.
