BSF troops guarding
The Border Security Force (BSF), in collaboration with the Special Task Force (STF), conducted successful operations along Punjab border, resulting in significant recoveries of drugs and drones.
In a joint raid on 22 January, the BSF and STF apprehended a drug smuggler in Amritsar and seized a mobile phone.
Acting on intelligence inputs, the team conducted a thorough search near Balharwal village, uncovering a packet of suspected heroin weighing 550 grams.
“On January 22, BSF intelligence wing developed and shared information about a smuggling attempt being carried out on Amritsar border. In a significant joint raid operation, the BSF and the Special Task Force (STF), Amritsar, apprehended one Indian smuggler along with one mobile phone. Further, on his revelation, the joint party conducted a thorough search... and recovered 01 Packet (Gross weight - 550 Grams) of suspected heroin," BSF said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, vigilant BSF troops recovered two drones in separate incidents in Amritsar and Fazilka districts.
In Amritsar, a DJI Mavic Classic 3 drone was found at around 1.50 pm in a farming field near Rattan Khurd village.
In Fazilka, a joint search with Punjab Police led to the recovery of an assembled quadcopter drone from a farming field.
Additionally, the BSF reported the recovery of four Zigana pistols and seven magazines dropped by a Pakistani drone in Rajatal village, Amritsar.
“Acting on specific intelligence inputs, BSF troops, in collaboration with Punjab Police, successfully recovered a large packet weighing over 5 kg... Upon opening, the packet was found to contain 4 Zigana pistols and seven magazines, making it a significant recovery,” the BSF shared on X.
