BSF Neutralises Pakistani Intruder At International Border In Gujarat's Banaskantha

The Border Security Force (BSF) shot and killed an intruder attempting to cross the India-Pakistan border in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district on Friday night (23 May).

According to a BSF statement released on Saturday (24 May), troops noticed a suspicious individual advancing towards the border fence after crossing the international boundary.

Despite being challenged, the intruder continued to move forward, prompting BSF personnel to open fire.

“The intruder was neutralised on the spot,” the statement said.

Earlier, on the night of 7-8 May, BSF troops shot dead another unidentified Pakistani intruder in Punjab’s Ferozepur sector.

The latest incidents come amid heightened vigilance along the border, following recent counter-terror operations by Indian forces, including Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror infrastructure across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Following the Indian airstrikes, Pakistan targeted Indian military bases using drones and missiles but this attempt was foiled by Indian air defence systems.

In response, India hit multiple Pakistani air bases on 10 May, prompting Pakistan to call for a no-fire pact.

Despite the ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan, the border remains tense, with Indian troops maintaining high alert.
