Canadian authorities arrested a fourth Indian national on Saturday (11 May) in connection with the killing of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, according to a report by NDTV.

The arrested individual, 22-year-old Amardeep Singh, resides in Brampton, Surrey, and Abbotsford areas of Canada. He faces charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) stated that Amardeep Singh was taken into custody on 11 May for his alleged involvement in Hardeep Singh Nijjar's killing. He was already in Peel Regional Police's custody for unrelated firearms charges.

Superintendent Mandeep Mooker, the Officer in Charge of IHIT, emphasised that this arrest is part of their ongoing efforts to hold accountable those involved in Hardeep Singh Nijjar's homicide.

IHIT investigators had previously arrested three Indian nationals — Karan Brar (22), Kamalpreet Singh (22), and Karanpreet Singh (28) — on 3 May for their alleged roles in Hardeep Singh Nijjar's murder.

All three individuals, who live in Edmonton, were charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

However, India's Ministry of External Affairs said that there is no formal diplomatic communication in this regard, but Canada has informed India about the arrests.
