Centre Approves Funds For Key Infrastructure Projects In Dehradun And Nainital Under Special Assistance Scheme

The Central Government has sanctioned Rs 164.67 crore under "Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Expenditure" for various development works in Uttarakhand's Dehradun and Nainital, ANI reported.

Of the sanctioned projects, Rs 828.27 lakh has been sanctioned for the development of a pond and park in Ramjiwala (Mianwala) under the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), and Rs 672.57 lakh has been sanctioned for the development of Gaura Devi Park in Defence Colony.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the central government's support for big projects is continuously being received.

He expressed special gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for sanctioning funds for infrastructure in Dehradun and Nainital.

The Uttarakhand CMO said that the Centre has approved multiple development works for Dehradun and Nainital, including:

  • Rs 13,441.85 lakh for a multi-level car parking and office complex building at Tehsil Chowk


  • Rs 12,150.38 lakh for the construction of Aadhat Bazar near Kargi Chowk

  • Rs 404.85 lakh for the upgradation of a water source on Maldevta Road in the vicinity of Raipur

  • Rs 1,215.36 lakh for a community center building in Garhi Cantt

  • Rs 1,241.59 lakh for road and drainage construction work at Sher Ka Danda in Nainital

  • Rs 621.10 lakh for road and drainage upgradation in the city of Nainital
