The Central government has prioritised the development of three new metro corridors in Delhi—R K Ashram to Indraprastha, Aerocity to Terminal-1, and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj under the PM GatiShakti infrastructure framework, with a total proposed investment of approximately Rs 11,150 crore.

Spanning just over 16 km, these projects were recently reviewed by the National Planning Group and are expected to be placed before the Cabinet for approval, according to a TimesNow report.

Among the three, the R K Ashram to Indraprastha corridor will be the longest and entirely underground, featuring nine stations.

These will include key locations such as Indraprastha, Bharat Mandapam, Baroda House, India Gate (C-Hexagon), the new Common Central Secretariat (CCS) buildings, Central Secretariat, Yuge Yugeen Bharat Museum, Shivaji Stadium, and R K Ashram Marg.

The line is expected to create a circular link between the Green, Blue, and Janakpuri West–R K Ashram Marg routes, relieving congestion at major hubs like Rajiv Chowk.

The corridor will also serve ten major government office buildings being developed along Kartavya Path, with two stations planned within the area.

A 2.3 km underground extension from Aerocity to Terminal-1, including a single station, is also in the pipeline. It will facilitate direct airport access for areas such as Tughlakabad, Khanpur, Mehrauli, and Vasant Kunj, boosting connectivity for Faridabad commuters via Tughlakabad.

The third corridor, Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj, will be an elevated 4-km stretch with stations at Ali Village, Ali Vihar, and Madanpur Khadar, offering interchange with the Magenta Line at Kalindi Kunj.
