Centre, NTA Get Supreme Court's Notice On Plea Seeking CBI Probe Into NEET-UG 2024 Paper Leak Allegations

The Supreme Court on Friday (14 June) issued notice to the Centre and the NTA on a plea seeking CBI probe into allegations of question paper leak, other irregularities in NEET UG Examination 2024.
The vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta tagged the cases with earlier petitions raising similar issues, which are listed on 8 July.
While the National Testing Agency was directed to file a response within 2 weeks, other respondents (Centre) were given time till next date of hearing, Livelaw reported.
During the proceedings, Justice Nath took objection to a petitioner's counsel for suggesting that student suicides in Kota were linked to the NEET-UG 2024 results, "don't make unnecessary emotional arguments here."
Regarding the demand for a CBI investigation into the alleged paper leak, Justice Nath said that NTA's response on the same was necessary before any order could be passed.
"It's the future of 24 lakh students...", he urged.
"We understand that... we are conscious of all that", remarked Justice Nath, before saying that all arguments shall be raised on 8 July.
The court today heard seven writ petitions in the NEET case.
