News Brief
Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Shiv Sena Leader Eknath Shinde.
Two days after nine NCP legislators, including Ajit Pawar, joined the government led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, several Sena MLAs and a Sena minister publicly expressed some dissatisfaction and questioned the decision to include the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in the government.
On Tuesday (4 July), Shiv Sena minister Shambhujraje Desai even went as far as to say that if the Shiv Sena UBT president presents a proposal or reaches out to them, the Sena led by Shinde would respond positively.
Desai stated, "These are all hypothetical questions. However, if anyone from Uddhav Ji's side approaches us, we will reciprocate. If we receive any proposal, we will respond positively."
Media reports have confirmed that CM Shinde has called for a meeting of all party leaders and MLAs at his official residence, Varsha Bungalow, on Wednesday evening. The purpose of the meeting is expected to be a discussion on the entry of Ajit Pawar-led NCP into the government.
In the meantime, the core committee of Shiv Sena gathered at Ramtek bungalow of Minister Deepak Kesarkar, on Tuesday evening, to address the issues at hand. According to sources, several MLAs and ministers expressed their dissatisfaction during the meeting.
Meanwhile, MLA Bharat Gogawale said that there is a disgruntlement among Shinde-led Sena but there is no point in being upset and the reality must be accepted.
