Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has issued a tender worth Rs 265 crores for civil works related to the expansion of its international terminal, T3, at Nedumbassery Airport.
The expansion aims to enhance passenger facilities and accommodate the increasing traffic at one of India’s busiest international gateways.
The project involves adding eight new aerobridges and expanding the terminal building with an additional built-up area of 600,000 square feet. The deadline for bid submission is 19 December 2024, with a pre-bid meeting scheduled for this Friday at the airport’s office in Kochi. The selected contractor will have 21 months to complete the civil works.
In addition to structural upgrades, CIAL plans to create substantial commercial spaces within the international waiting hall, including retail outlets and lounge areas. These enhancements aim to improve passenger comfort and elevate the airport’s appeal as a world-class travel destination.
