Congress Targets PM Modi’s Five-Nation Tour Alongwith BRICS Summit, Jairam Ramesh Calls Him 'Super Premium Frequent Flier'

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming eight-day, five-nation tour to Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil (for the BRICS Summit), and Namibia starting 2 July, Congress general secretary in-charge of communications, Jairam Ramesh, launched a stinging critique, reported The New Indian Express.

Taking to X, (formerly known as Twitter) he wrote: "“When the going gets tough, the self-styled toughs get going."

The Congress leader reiterated that Modi has yet to visit Manipur, which continues to suffer from prolonged unrest. “The double engine government has derailed in the state, and normal life has collapsed,” Ramesh added.

The Congress further pointed to the Modi government’s silence on repeated claims by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who said he brokered an India-Pakistan ceasefire using trade talks as leverage. Additionally, the party questioned the delay in action against perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack, 70 days after the incident, claiming the same group may have links to earlier attacks in Poonch, Gagangir, and Gulmarg.
