As the 2025 Delhi Assembly election results unfold, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has crossed the majority mark, securing a comfortable lead over the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The elections have witnessed several high-profile defeats, including that of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, marking a significant political shift in the capital.

Arvind Kejriwal Defeated, BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh Wins New Delhi Seat

In a major electoral upset, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal lost the New Delhi constituency to BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh by over 4,000 votes. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit finished third from the seat.

Atishi Narrowly Wins, Sisodia Loses Jangpura to BJP

While Delhi Chief Minister Atishi managed to retain her Kalkaji seat, she won by a thin margin of just 3,521 votes against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, with Congress’ Alka Lamba finishing a distant third.

Meanwhile, AAP’s Manish Sisodia lost the Jangpura seat to BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah.

Sisodia, who was Delhi’s deputy chief minister until 2023, had spent 17 months in jail over money laundering allegations linked to the now-scrapped Excise Policy.

Mishra had won the same seat in 2015 under AAP’s banner but was sacked in 2017 for anti-party activities before joining BJP in 2019.
