The Delhi government will unveil an infrastructure package worth over Rs 3,000 crore on 17 September, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, marking the start of Seva Pakhwada. The projects span water, sewage, healthcare, roads, and social welfare, reported The Times of India.

Officials will lay out a citywide drainage master plan, build the Nand Nagri flyover, commission new reservoirs, and upgrade sewage treatment plants.

The government will also operationalise 38 MRI machines and 150 dialysis units, while strengthening healthcare services at major hospitals, including Acharya Shree Bhikshu, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial, Guru Gobind Singh Government, and Bhagwan Mahavir. Additionally, it will launch 101 Ayushman Arogya health centres.

The Delhi Jal Board will drive key water projects, including the Okhla STP upgrade, a new sewer network in Sonia Vihar, and expanded water treatment capacity.

To improve supply in southwest Delhi, it will commission a master balancing reservoir at Palla and an underground facility at Bijwasan.

The government will also clear long-pending dues under the Ladli scheme, which provides cash support at birth and during educational milestones for girls.

PWD minister Parvesh Verma said the projects embody the government’s vision of a cleaner, healthier, and better-connected capital. “On the birthday of our respected Prime Minister, these transformative projects will be our government's gift to the people of Delhi,” he stated.

The BJP has planned the two-week Seva Pakhwada nationwide to promote service and outreach.
